Business competitions is on

Running a business is a chanllenge particularly during pandemic. Business environment changes, Business model changes, and customers practices chagnes. And companies have to be more innovative and creative to survive than before.

“Your competitors are doing great discount on products prices. Do we need to follow them?” I ask my boss and show him the advestiment on the social media.

“The company’s best advantage should be a qulity product offered at the right price.” He answers with a smile.

“But they are drawing attention now.” I said. I do not have any ideas about price competition and how the business works. Maybe it is the reason why I am an employee not an entrepreneur.

“If we let low-price competition continue to disturb the market order without containment, it will have an adverse effect on, and cause disorder to, the profession in the long run.” He explains.

“So, should we just…ignore them?” I confuse.

“If you have a successful company, you will get your market share. We don’t have a monopoly. We have market share.” He seems like care nothing about it and then sips his morning coffee as usual.

I look at him and wonder. Will I be a successful entrepreneur one day?

Back to Work

“Things are not always right because they are hard, but if they are right, one must not mind if they are also hard.” Winston Churchill.

Two years after my long vacation or adventure, I discover the whole world is changing in ways that I cannot imagine. I cannot imagine the whole world will be interrupted. No Flight, no dine out, no school and no physical face-to-face interaction. Internet and social media are taking up most of our time and we cannot live without them.

The definition of society is re-defined.

Suddenly, I remember my old boss who taught me a lot about how the world works. Certainly, I missed him sometime. But I just do not know what my first sentence would be when I call him.

Nevertheless, I just call him this time.

“Hi, it’s…”

“Yes, I know. I was waiting for your call for so long.”

“Yup, I am so sorry that I left without saying anything about it. I was…” It was a very long story and I hope I can talk about this later.

“Would you like to come back and work with me again?” he asks

“It’s…it’s…it’s such a pleasure!” I am shocking. I am blank. But I am also very excited.

I cannot believe that he will invite me to work with him again after I left so suddenly.

“Things are not always right because they are hard.”

It is Mr. Churchill’s quote and I know what he would like to imply.

“I am still there and see you tomorrow at 9.” he says.
